Hobona returns to active politics

FRANCISTOWN: Former Francistown West legislator Dr Habaudi Hobona has said that she remains open to the idea of contesting the 2019 general elections.

Until recently, another former legislator Vain Mamela was tipped to represent the Botswana Congress Party (BCP), an affiliate of Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) at the 2019 general elections in the Francistown West constituency.

However, there are now strong indications that Hobona, who made history by becoming the first opposition woman Member of Parliament (MP) in November 2013, has hit a u-turn on her desire to quit active politics.
