Of the BNF factions, there is one that includes the current mayor Bankinyana Montsiemang and his deputy Obed Monkge while the other camp has Amos Jahana and Tsietsi Oodira-Kwenje who want to take over as mayor and deputy mayor, respectively. For some months now, there has been acrimony between the two factions such that at one point they sought the intervention of the party head office.
