High Court snubs joinder bid in ZCC case

High Court judge, Michael Mothobi has dismissed a joinder application by a member of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC). The ZCC member wanted to be cited as a respondent in a case in which the church is embroiled in a constitutional battle against some members of the Tlokweng ZCC branch.

Jost Isaac, a lawyer, had applied to be party to the constitutional case brought to court by Tshiamo Tladi and 10 others against their church. The members are suing the church over what they call violation of the church constitution and victimisation of members.

Isaac, who has already been admitted as a friend of the court (amicus curiae) in the main application, is now seeking to be party to the proceedings and defend the case against ZCC and its Bishop, Barnabas Lekganyane.
