Heart disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, health officials said at the commemoration of World Hypertension Day over the weekend.

Professor Kiran Bhagat said that the most common cause of death among women is heart disease and not breast cancer.

The commemoration that was held at the main mall attracted hundreds of members of the public who had come to be tested for sugar levels and blood pressure.
