'Progress can kill' presents statistics showing that forced relocation and loss of lands lead to a raft of health problems including suicide, addiction, and a dramatically low life expectancy.

The Gana and Gwi Bushmen of Botswana are highlighted in the report as their eviction from their ancestral land in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve has led to an increase in HIV/AIDS and other diseases, along with problems of alcohol abuse.
