Heads expected to roll at the JPC

Despite measures put in place by both Botswana and Namibia to fight transnational common border organised crime, commercial poaching and illegal migration still remain mammoth challenges for the two countries.

The 22nd session of the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) comes at a time when the Namibian media recently created a reportedly false impression of the BDF, accusing them of killing innocent fishermen, rather than poachers.

Even though both leaders of the delegations did not mention issues to be discussed at the current joint permanent commission in their speeches, the problem of poaching is among these expected to be at the top of the agenda.
