Gunmen rob private school of P50,000

A private school in Gaborone North, Ace Eagles Academy was robbed of P50,000 on Friday by four gun men, who walked into the school head's office and instructed her to hand over the money.

The four men are said to have entered the school on Tuesday morning under the pretext of inquiring about school fees, claiming they wished to enroll their children in the school. According to an eyewitness, the men seemed to have knowledge about the money, as they went straight to the school head's office. The suspects are said to have pointed their guns at the school head before they instructed her to give them money from the safe. When she refused, they ordered her to lie on the floor and threatened to shoot her. They then got away with P30,000 cash and cheques amounting to P20,000.

The men are said to have threatened other employees, before they made away in two Toyota Corollas.In an interview with Mmegi, the station commander at Sir Seretse Khama Airport Police Station, Superintendent Banneetse Keakile said they are still investigating the case and so far have not made any arrests. "According to the information we have, the students were not affected as they were in classes when the robbery occurred," said Keakile.
