FRANCISTOWN: An official from Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) has accused the government of using mafia tactics in response to the strike action by workers.

Addressing a press briefing on Tuesday in Francistown Ketlhalefile Motshegwa said only a mafia government with scant regard for the rule of law can threaten people with dismissal for taking part in a legal strike adding that the fact that a strike is legal means that the job is secure.

Motshegwa said the Botswana Democratic Party government does not have the interests of the workers at heart.
