Govt sets aside P88m for internship drive

The newly introduced National Internship programme, one of the initiatives of President Ian Khama last year, will consume P88 million this year.

The objective of the initiative is to accord fresh graduates the opportunity to gain work-based skills while they continue to explore employment avenues.

Presenting his budget proposal in Parliament last week, Labour and Home Affairs Minister Peter Siele said P72 million will go towards internship allowances. The new department gets P86,319 ,60.
