Govt reclaims Kgatleng from Kgafela

MOCHUDI: The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Ramadeluka Seretse, says the imperative of ensuring a country's security begins with the family, through to the tribe and then the nation.

Addressing a Kgotla meeting in Mochudi on Monday, Seretse said he came to bring peace, stability and security to Bakgatla. "Nothing else but peace and security as implied in the name of my ministry," he said as he struck a cord with a tribe that has been at variance with the government over several issues for the past few years.

Seretse - who lived among the Bakgatla during his formative years as a student at Molefi Secondary School for the better part of the 1970s - said like other tribes, Bakgatla too had a responsibility to fight crime and to ensure law and order.
