Govt ordered to pay UB student allowances

The Ministry of Education (MoE) suffered another blow yesterday when Justice Key Dingake ordered it to credit University of Botswana (UB) student allowances, which it freezed two months ago.

This comes a month after students of Limkokwing University won a similar case against the MoE.

The court set aside the decision by the ministry not to pay the students for the June and July 2009 vacation as null and void and ordered that the students be paid the allowances on or before July 30.
