SEROWE: Assistant Minister of Local Government Maxwell Motowane has thanked the government of China for their unwavering support to Botswana.

He pointed out that this support came at an opportune time when Botswana is still experiencing financial constraints occasioned by the effects of the global economic down-turn. Motowane said this during the official opening of Dinokwane Primary School in Serowe on Friday. He noted that through bilateral relationships, several government bodies and local authorities have benefited from assistance by the Chinese government.

"Last year we were offered 40 computers for distribution to several primary schools. The computers are of great assistance to the children who will in future benefit the development of Botswana and also in the realisation of Vision 2016's pillar of an educated and informed nation," he said.
