Govt has not engaged BOFEPUSU over complaints registered with ILO

Government has not made any effort to persuade the Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) not to report the country to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for transgressions against workers.

"For now, I will not say we have made any effort,"  accounting officer for the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, Lucky Moahi said when appearing before the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) yesterday.

PAC member, Kentse Rammidi had wanted to know whether the ministry is satisfied with its mediation efforts in the standoff between the employer and the union body.
