Govt explains phane export process

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism (MEWT) has issued a statement advising any person wishing to deal in or export any veld product to obtain a dealer or export permit for that product.

This follows confusion over phane export permits that have left many Batswana stranded with loads of phane at South African border posts because they did not obtain the required permit.

Obtaining the permit is subject to provisions of the Agricultural Resources Conservation Act (cap35.06) and its associated regulations.
