A six-year-old girl who has been fighting for her life at Princess Marina Hospital's intensive care unit since last Wednesday is recuperating.

The minor was stabbed with a sharp object by her 12-year-old playmate last Wednesday afternoon in Tlokweng.

Police have launched investigations into this unlawful wounding case because the cause of the fight between the girls is not yet known. Tlokweng Police Station commander, Superintendent Unoziba Rari said despite having sustained serious injuries the girl is recovering.

He stated that on the afternoon of the stabbing, the girl duo, being playmates, came together from school and went to the suspect’s yard. “We do not know what caused the fight between them that landed the younger one in hospital. Investigations into the matter with the aid of social workers are ongoing,” he said.
