Girl, six, critical after playmate, 12, stabs her

A six-year-old girl is fighting for her life at Princess Marina Hospital's ICU after a 12-year-old girl stabbed her with a sharp object while at play.

Police investigating the matter said they are yet to establish what caused the fight between the minors. Investigating the unlawful wounding case, Tlokweng Police Station commander, Superintendent Unoziba Rari said the stabbing incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Tlokweng.

“It is reported that the duo came together from school and went to the suspect’s yard. We do not know what caused the fight between them that landed the younger one in the hospital. The victim sustained serious injuries and is currently fighting for her life at PMH,” Rari said.

Rari further revealed that they have launched an investigation with the aid of social workers.
