GCC officials donate to abandoned child

Gaborone City Council (GCC) staff last Friday went the extra mile by embodying the saying 'taking service to the people.'

The city council's community service committee took a break from the pressing needs of providing service to Gaborone residents to gush over six-month-old Vincent* and to hand over gifts to him at Princess Marina Hospital's Children's Ward.

Oblivious to the story of his birth, little Vincent - who looked adorable in a blue romper with bear-ears - was all smiles and perfect manners as he was passed around. His mother abandoned him soon after giving birth to him at the hospital. He has been living in the paediatric ward since his birth, and will continue to do so until he is adopted.
