GBV Cases Decline In Boteti During Festive Season

FRANCISTOWN: Letlhakane which is notoriously known for high cases of heinous crimes against women and children recorded a sharp decline during the festive season, The Monitor has learnt .

The village, located in Boteti region, and its surrounding areas have over the past been tormented and famed for recording high numbers of gender-based violence (GBV) cases, mostly rape and defilement.

However, this time around, according to Letlhakane police station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu, cases of violence against women and children went down over the festive season.
