The Botswana Movement for Democracy National Executive Committee has co-opted Ndaba Gaolathe as vice-president.

At its workshop held last weekend in Palapye, the BMD leadership also named Gabriel Masie the party's new national organising secretary. Sennye Kono was appointed national policy director, a post which was previously held by Gaolathe. On the other hand, Winfred Rasina, who was the party's spokesperson, until he quit to focus on a bid for the youth chairmanship, has been re-appointed to the post.

The workshop was also attended by working committees of the BMD executive committees, Members of Parliament, councillors and the secretariat. In a media missive, BMD secretary general Wynter Mmolotsi says the workshop dealt with: "Evaluative reports on by-elections, relationship with Liberal Democrats and bilateral activities, mobilisation initiatives, membership management and issues pertaining to central administration. Re-appraise the strategy of the organisation that is founded on the four areas of building the organisation, developing the message and policies, mobilising people and preparing for government and driven by the strategy that is hinged on clarifying vision, processes and leadership in each of the foundation areas that define the existence of the party," he said.
