Games and smiles for orphans

The University of Botswana Christian Union Charity Foundation (CUCF) put smiles on the faces of underprivileged children with recreational items at Bontleng hall over the weekend.

The 200 children, under the guidance of Guardian Angels Orphan Society (GAOS) can now participate in indoor and outdoor games. GAOS chair, Percy Madikwe said that the children are able to meet on Saturdays and interact with others.

He said that often orphans and vulnerable children encounter many problems when left to their own devices. They can be faced with behavioural problems and get into mischief and criminal activities. Madikwe said that sometimes they spend too much time with the wrong people and learn all the wrong things or play with things that could endanger their lives such as broken bottles or used condoms.
