The youthful village chief Abdul Letlamba said since they lost the officers two months ago, they cannot even summon suspects for prosecution. The Local Police Officers are charged with summoning suspects at Customary Courts all over the country. Letlamba said that for two months they have not tried any case. He stated that cattle buyers in the village are going through a tough time because the police officers are the ones who register at the Kgotla before sale. "We also use the police officers to collect fines, now we cannot perform that job in their absence," Letlamba explained.
"A day after the police officers left the village, burglars broke into the school and made away with valuables. A person was attacked and robbed of money as well," the village chief said.
