Gaborone's unspoilt attractions of the Anglo-Boer War

A new book to be launched next week is unlocking living scenes of the 1899-1902 Anglo Boer War in Gaborone that tourists can visit and appreciate the significance this town played in that war.

With no books in modern-day Gaborone about the Anglo Boer War and no good roads linking Gaborone to the hilly, bushy, revirine site at Notwane, the living memory of that bloody war has remained hidden from many Batswana and tourists for many years.

However, Crocodile Pools Botswana, the new book by Michael Brook, may just be the key to unlocking - for Batswana and other tourists - those hidden attractions that include remnants of dynamited bridges, several fortifications built by the armies, and graves of heroes that fell during the bloody war in Gaborone.
