These and other fascinating titbits about the city can be found at an exhibition tracking the 125-year journey of Gaborone from its genesis as just an army garrison and railway stop to a city that is currently home to over 230,000 people. The exhibition opened Saturday morning at the Botswana National Museum's Main Gallery.

The exhibition, part of the museum's commemoration of International Museum Day, was opened by Tshekedi Khama, the Minister for Environment, Wildlife and Tourism (MEWT). It is an exhibition of photographs and memorabilia tracing the social and economic progression of the city and capturing the faces of those at the forefront of its establishment and development.
