Batswana may start to bury their dead in stacks if the Gaborone City Council succeeds in persuading citizens of the capital city to support a raft of unprecedented by-laws.Motorists may also start paying for parking in the council's parking lots.  Unveiling newly proposed council by-laws at a recent press conference, the Mayor of Gaborone Haskins Nkaigwa said the council would take the proposed instruments through public consultations before making them legal.   GCC will outsource the service in an arrangement under which the council will set a standard fee and leave everything to the private service provider. 

The Mayor said he hoped the development would ease traffic congestion and parking headaches in the city.He said city planners had not anticipated the phenomenal growth that has foreseen traffic growing to a point where the city cannot cope.
