A spate of robberies hit Gaborone West over the weekend. In one of the cases, a 28 year-old woman was admitted at the Princess Marina Hospital with a fractured thigh following a botched robbery.

According to the Gaborone West Police station commander, Agreement Mapeu, the woman and three male accomplices who were travelling in a car, attempted to rob a motorist along the Gaborone/Gabane road on Saturday evening.

Mapeu said the couple who were targeted were driving in front of the vehicle of the would be robbers. He said when the vehicle slowed down for a pedestrian, the one behind sped past and blocked it.
