F/town hosts Belgian delegation

FRANCISTOWN: The Belgian Delegates from The City of Genk held the official commissioning and handing over of the Telemetry with the members of the Francistown City Council (FCC) that includes Mayor Buti Billy and councillors.

The delegates, who arrived in Botswana last week came to install the new telemetry system which would help the maintenance workers to monitor faults on the sewerage system. The Belgians also donated funds amounting to P6 ,800 to Phathlogo Primary School and the same amount to Heaven of Hope in Ntshe house.

The event started with the tour of the Mambo Pump Station (the sewerage system).
The head of sewerage department, Steven Chavula, in his acceptance speech said the major constraints they have with regard to sewerage systems includes lack of funds for maintenance of pump stations and workers' salaries.
