F/town cllrs, residents not consulted on envisaged university

FRANCISTOWN: Francistown councillors are crying foul over the fact that plans to build a university at Gerald Estates locationmight not see light of day as apparently, the ministry responsible for education in Botswana has made other plans for Francistown College of Education (FCE).

The councillors were responding to a presentation by the deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) Kgopotso Ramoroka at the last ordinary full council meeting held in Francistown yesterday.

From his presentation the permanent secretary basically said that the relocation of FCE was provided for in the NDP8 and NDP9 but it had to be withheld due to financial constraints.
