Four die as two buses collide

Four people died at Morale, 10km south of Mahalapye, yesterday morning when two buses belonging to Bamagwato Coach Tours collided. "The buses collided at around 5:30am and 6am and both were carrying 60 passengers each," Assistant Superintendent Zacks Masike confirmed.

He said that eight injured passengers were admitted to Mahalapye Primary Hospital while one was transferred to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital in Francistown.  Police investigations into what caused the accident are continuing.  The Mahalapye-Dibete Road is under construction and the one in use is narrow.

Parliament recently heard that its completion has been delayed because of heavy rains last year and that it is expected to be complete later this year. The construction of the 100km-stretch cost government over P100 million.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old girl is to appear before Mahalapye Magistrate Court next Monday on a single murder charge.
