Former workers sue BDP head honcho for debt

FRANCISTOWN: Two ex-workers of a tendering company owned by the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Francistown region chairperson Baemedi Medupi have hauled him before court for unpaid dues.

Medupi, who was once a specially elected councillor at Sowa Township council agreed to pay Mooketsi Balondi P1, 050 and costs being the money for cutting trees along Borolong road to Orapa junction in May 2017.

When Medupi appeared before Magistrate Kaveri Kapeko at the Small Claims Court on Wednesday, he agreed that indeed Balondi was his former employee and he owed him P1, 050 and not P1, 500 that Balondi mentioned in his court papers.
