Foray into Kgatleng hinterland

It is 7am on Thursday. I get a call from the Kgatleng District Council (KDC) chairman, Tona Mooketsi, who reminds me of our trip to Olifants Drift/Ramotlabaki, the villages that form the ward represented by the Botswana National Front (BNF) councillor, Patrick Letsebe.

Apparently Letsebe together with his former boss, Isaac Mabiletsa, the Kgatleng East legislator, recently defected to BCP. However, Letsebe decided to make a u-turn to BNF saying he was not comfortable with the BCP constitution.

I had heard from Mooketsi the previous day that all is not well with farmers in the two villages and that some have already lost their cattle due to an outbreak of a cattle disease called Bovine Malignant Catarrhal Fever (BMCF).
