Fired miners deposit all eggs in Appeals Court

LOBATSE: The 461 victims of strike action, fired by the De Beers-government diamond mining amalgam, Debswana in 2004, pin their hopes for salvation on the anticipated ruling of the Court of Appeal which should decide whether an industrial court should listen to their case.


The employees were sacked after embarking on a strike in August 2004, which the High Court declared illegal.

Multitudes of former employees thronged the High Court yesterday to hear first hand what the future holds for them.
