Fire guts Letlhakane Senior Sec School

FRANCISTOWN: Fire swept through Letlhakane Senior Secondary School over the weekend, destroying two classroom blocks.

School head Israel Moalotsi confirmed the fire, which happened on Saturday around midnight. Moalotsi said that at around 11.45 pm, a colleague telephoned him to inform him that the school was on fire.

"Out of panic, we rushed there and found Letlhakane Police trying to put out the raging fire with powder extinguishers but without much success," he said. The blaze, which was consuming room 25 and its storeroom, spread further to room 26 and its storeroom, razing two blocks in the process.
