Family of murder victims finds no closure

MAROBELA: It will be exactly 63 days today since a family woke up to learn the bad news that their mother and sister had been brutally killed by an unknown assailant at the lands near this village.

The first born in this family of six, Lesego Mojiwa, 61, is unable to forget the morning of May 18 when he received a phone call from a young man hired to fence their land informing him that his sister and mother had been attacked."They were attacked as they slept in the hut. I still remember that day very well when we received a phone call that my mother and sister were murdered at the fields.  This came as a shock to us. We are still in shock," he said as his wife Ipolokeng's eyes, who sat nearby, started welling with tears.

In fact, the wife expressed her agony when she said: "We were starting to forget. Now you are opening our wounds all over again." But Mojiwa found courage in relating what transpired that day. "Tshilo was my mother and Bagele my sister and losing them at the same time is something that we cannot forget easily in this family. "We are hoping that one day we will be told that the culprit has been arrested," he said.  Mojiwa said his heartache is compounded by the fact that they did not know what actually happened that day, especially what made what he vehemently described as the" monster" kill their family members. He said that they rushed to the scene and found the hut where the two had been sleeping in totally destroyed, with blood splattered all over the place.
