Fake Drivers' Licenses

The Department of Roads Transport and Safety (DRTS) has warned the public of conmen who pose as officials working for the department and swindle customers of their hard earned cash.

This follows a number of incidents in various DRTS offices in Gaborone in which a number of unsuspecting victims are reported to have been swindled of large amounts of money in what is believed to be a driving licence scam by some conmen in Gaborone.

The fraudsters are said to be impersonating DRTS officers.
The department said the conmen frequent their offices around Gaborone for various services, pretending to be working for the department and illegally rob people of their money.
