Facebook group to setup an NGO

The Facebook group Fight Crime in Gaborone intends to setup as a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO). The group was initiated to raise awareness on crime-related issues.

It has been in existence since 2008 and is currently sitting at just under 4,000 members on the popular social networking site. 

When speaking to Mmegi Phenyo Motlhagodi, the official spokesperson  explained that the group was formed as a pressure group to ensure that government prioritises on issues that affect the public in relation to crime. " The group was set-up to create a link between the police and people and to carry out research work on common crimes and how they occur," he said.
