External Registration On Low Gear

Principal Public Relations Officer for the Independent Electoral Commission, Osupile Maroba, says the low figures for external registration are 'a serious source of concern' for the organisation.

On Friday, Maroba said that there are 25 external polling stations where Botswana has missions, but only 2,258 voters were registered last year. 

Out of the 25 polling stations, nine are open in South Africa where there is a large number of Botswana citizens, especially students. He is not satisfied with the number of students who have registered so far.
