Ex-soldier arrested after wife's death

SELEBI-PHIKWE: A 40-year-old retired Botswana Defence Force (BDF) officer has been remanded in custody on allegations of stabbing his wife to death last week at New Stance Location in Selebi-Phikwe.

Selebi-Phikwe Police Station Acting Commander, assistant superintendent Goganang Pule told Mmegi in an interview that the incident occurred around mid-day, on Thursday. He explained that they suspect that the deceased, who is in her 30's, was stabbed with a sharp object.

He said they are still to establish how many stab wounds the deceased suffered because the post-mortem report  is yet to be released by the pathologist. He also added that he could not reveal the names of the victim because her family has not yet  been informed.
