Ex-Shashe students bail out old school

TONOTA: Former Shashe River Senior Secondary School students have come to the rescue of their old school by donating computers, thereby replacing the ones that were recently stolen.

They presented the computers to school head Abram Thapedi and his staff before distinguished guests, who included the founder of the school Patrick van Rensburg, during an occasion that doubled as a prize-giving ceremony and the school's 40th anniversary celebration over the weekend.

The former students, "Class of'87" - who completed their Form Five in 1987 - included Dr Sibonile Ellece, an English and Linguistics lecturer at the University of Botswana (UB), and Tirelo Leshetla, a senior official at Orange Botswana.
