Ex-military chief joins UB

The University of Botswana (UB) has revealed that former Botswana Defence Force (BDF) commander Lt-Gen Matshwenyego Fisher has been offered a job as a part-time lecturer in the department of political science and public administration.

Fisher retired from the BDF in 2006 and joined South Africa's Wits University as a lecturer. He told Mmegi that he has decided to come back home to do his PhD research after enrolling at Wits last year.

 
"My research proposal is defence policy making in Botswana," he said. He said that his part-time job at UB will allow him to push his research for the PhD.Fisher holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, a Masters Degree in Political Science and Public Administration and MBA.
