Simon Lekgoma had pleaded guilty to the charge. He is said to have stolen P10, 000 from FCC while he was still employed by the council.

Senior Magistrate Peggy Mandadume said that the accused had admitted the charge and promised to reimburse the council. "He is also a first offender and he has shown remorse," she said. Madandume said that however, the offence was a serious one.
