Ex-BDF employee charged

A 41-year-old former Botswana Defence Force employee is facing nine counts of obtaining by false pretense.

It is alleged that Isaac Monyadiwa of Otse village obtained cattle worth close to P100,000 from 11 farmers in the Borolong district since June last year.

It is further said that Monyadiwa is currently running a milling business, which buys cattle from individual farmers to sell to butcheries.The accused allegedly made agreements with some farmers to buy their cattle and pay them after seven days but he never did. He reportedly switched off his phone every time the farmers called to enquire about their payments.
