Eduvolunteers are spawns of the strike

The public service strike of last winter led to the emergence of new ideas among Batswana to help their fellow citizens.

After teachers joined the strike, one Motswana student in Malaysia, Roger Mphafe, formed a group of tutors to help in some schools. Eduvolunteer is the group he and others formed for the purpose.

The group is based in Gaborone, but it has visited some schools outside the capital to conduct tutorials on different subjects. The founder, Mphafe, says most members of the group are Form 5 students while a few are students at tertiary institutions.
