Dutch Reformed Church fails to resolve conflict

The Dutch Reformed Church in Botswana (DRCB) has not been able to resolve the divisions at the Bokaa congregation.

The Bokaa congregation was split into two factions following the ousting of Reverend Moses Bogatsu, who was banished after a litany of allegations were levelled against him.  A meeting of the warring factions last Sunday failed to resolve the differences. The two factions had resorted to holding separate Sunday services. The first service, which started at 8am, was for worshippers who supported the pastor. The second service which started at the church's official time of 10.30 am, was for those against the estranged pastor.

Lately however, the church leadership was able to get the two factions to worship together. One of the congregants  said the church has never enjoyed peace after Reverend Bogatsu was relieved of his duties. She said his supporters were not happy with this development.  She revealed that in the past there have been ugly scenes in the church with the police called to intervene.
