Duo in court for not paying employees

FRANCSTOWN: Two people have been dragged before the Francistown Magistrates court for not paying their employees.

Yvonne Moses and Gadzani Mchauza face nine counts of failing to pay their employees' March salaries. Moses and Mchauza are said to be managing director and site foreman of Terex Construction Company respectively. The two appeared in court yesterday but the prosecution asked for their pleas to be reserved as the matter is still fresh.

The prosecutor Goitseone Makgoa said even though the two could be granted bail, police investigations are not yet over. "Some employees still have their complaints pending with the police," he said. He added that the state might amend the charge sheet while investigations are continuing. Makgoa stated that the state still has to check if the company run by the two accused is registered.
