Re-elected Gaborone Mayor, Haskins Nkaigwa has advised street vendors operating in Gaborone City Council (GCC) owned malls to stop using gas stoves, generators and continuously playing loud music or face the wrath of the law.

The mayor told the street vendors that their gas cylinders pose a threat to shoppers as they are operated in open areas and close to retail shops that are often teeming with people.  He said the gas cylinders used are explosive yet none of them bothers to have at least a fire extinguisher in case of an emergency.
