Don't panic, says Gaolathe

There should be no panic about the performance of Botswana's foreign reserves, according to Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Baledzi Gaolathe.

The minister said he is aware of the anxiety among Batswana caused by the recent collapse of businesses at home and abroad and the resultant job losses at Debswana and other key revenue earning hubs.

He nevertheless laid to rest concerns about the implications for Botswana's economy of the current pandemic in the banking, insurance and property markets of the industrial countries.
