Chairman of the Botswana Law Society (BLS) and Gaborone lawyer, Duma Boko has refuted charges that he suffers conflict of interest in his defence of fellow attorney and former Botswana National Front (BNF) president, Gabriel Kanjabanga.

The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) last week launched charges of theft, forgery, obtaining by false pretences and numerous counts of money laundering against Kanjabanga.

The case started to gain momentum before trial, with reports that there are complaints that the chairman of the law society should not be involved in a case that had the potential of coming before the Law Society's council.
