Acting Minister of Education and Skills Development Mokgweetsi Masisi has urged voters not to be ashamed of government programmes such as Ipelegang despite opposition’s constant taunts that the schemes are an insult to Batswana.

Masisi said this during Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry and Gaborone North parliamentary candidate, Keletso Rakhudu’s launch over the weekend. He told voters to be wary of opposition tactics because the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is committed to closing the poverty gap and implementing permanent solutions to Batswana’s economic plight.

“We have been ridiculed about programmes such as Ipelegeng and many will use that to mislead you forgetting that BDP is the same party which has taken this country out of poverty and ensured most Batswana lead a decent life,” he said.
