Domestic violence bill set to sail through parliament

The domestic violence bill would also protect abused men once it is passed into law. The proposed law tabled by the MP for Kweneng South, Gladys Kokorwe as a private member's bill, is to be presented for the second reading today (Friday).

The proposed law is aimed at giving protection to people who are abused at home. Kokorwe said that the proposed law is gender-neutral. 

She said even men who are abused by their partners would also be protected. The legislator said she was aware that even men are abused in their homes.
