Disgruntled students march on department

Disgruntled University of Botswana students paid a visit to the Department of Tertiary Education Financing (DTEF) demanding answers about their living allowances.

The students - made up of freshers, progressing and retaking learners - wanted their living allowances credited today because they have not received it since the academic year started in August. They complained that this was having a negative impact on their learning and general wellbeing.

"As we speak, my book allowance has not been credited and I don't have reading material," one student said. "No one can expect productive learning in this setup."
